Silver Falls State Park

Lover South Falls waterfallI just love Silver Falls State Park just outside of Silverton, Oregon. There are some great trails leading to the beautiful South Falls and Lower South Falls.  The park is also home to the “Trail of Ten Falls“.

Silver Falls State Park can be very crowded in the warmer season, mainly the late spring and summer. My hubby and I have been there when it was extremely crowded. So crowded it was nearly impossible to get some good photographs of the falls without people in them. Also, camping is full unless you reserve well in advance. We’ve yet to camp there.

This past Friday, we visited Silver Falls State Park on a really nice sunny, spring day. I was fortunate to get several shots of the two falls without anyone in them. Though there were a few hikers here and there, I had no trouble getting the shots I wanted.

One of these days, hubby and I would love to view the state park in the fall season. I’ve seen some beautiful photos taken there in the fall.
