Golden and Silver Falls

Silver FallsA couple of weekends ago I attended a flowing water workshop at Southwestern Oregon Community College.  The workshop consisted of two days of field trips to various falls.  On the first day we traveled to Golden and Silver Falls about 25 miles east of Coos Bay.  The second day we traveled to Sweet Creek Falls near Mapleton.

Because I was so excited about photographing waterfalls, and I went back last Sunday afternoon to Golden and Silver Falls for another attempt at Silver Falls.  This particular falls is one of my very favorite falls near the Oregon Coast. The weather proved to be perfect and the spray off the falls was very minimal compared to what I had experienced during the workshop field trip.  I was pretty happy with the quality of shots I was able to get that day.

These workshops proved to be beneficial as I learned how to take flowing water photos much better than I did previously. I’m really glad I signed up for the workshop. It was really worth my time and it cost very little to go.
