This morning I heard from my daughter’s, wishing me a happy Mother’s Day. It was so good to hear from them. Wish I could see them more often. Then hubby and I took a drive out to Golden & Silver Falls State Park. The weather was cloudy with rain now and then, but it made for a beautiful drive out to the falls.
On the way to the falls I spotted some trees that had huge nests in them and big balls of white feathers sticking out of them. My husband said they were egret nests. So on the way back from the falls, we pulled over and walked to almost below the trees that housed these great big birds. It was the most incredible thing I have seen in such a long time. The noise from the birds was so interesting! I didn’t know they made those kind of sounds. Usually when I try to photograph egrets, they fly off very quickly as they get spooked easily. But because we were near their nesting grounds, they stayed in the area. They were aware of us and flew to different trees if we made noise, but they quickly came back to their nests. I am going to remember this place and return with a longer lens in the future. My 250mm was alright, but a 400mm would be incredible.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

Beautiful images and how great that the egrets were there to wish you happy mom’s day.
