Since December, I’ve been having fun with a social photo a day journal site called, Blipfoto. I first heard about Blipfoto from another photographer I met out shooting photos of the Heceta Head Lighthouse, north of Florence.
I thought I’d give it a try after looking it over and seeing that it looked like a great community of people that love photography. You upload a photo a day and then can journal about your day, your photo, whatever. Others can follow you by subscribing to your journal and you can do the same to others. People can comment and rate your photos if they choose too.
Since I began I must say it’s been so much fun. I am looking at everything in such a different way. Taking photos daily really is such a great discipline for me. Looking at other photographer’s photos is also very inspirational. It’s great that there are so many creative folks from all over the world on Blipfoto which first originated out of Scotland.
On March 21, pacific northwest members of the Blipfoto community met for the first time at the Bridgeport Brew Pub in Portland, Oregon. Nine of us showed up for lunch and conversation. It was fun to meet people that shared the same passions as myself about photography. I think we agreed that we all had a great time.
I’ve really grown to appreciate this great community. I encourage you to check out Blipfoto for yourself, you may very well like it too!
