I recently returned from a trip to New York City where I visited my daughters and grandson. They live in Manhattan. I don’t get to practice portraits often, so I was glad for the opportunity while I was there.
My daughter Nicole let me do a photo shoot with her one day. Her hat inspired me to process the photos in a vintage tone.
My grandson was difficult to photograph because he likes making faces when you try and take a photo of him. But I did manage to get one where he chose his own pose. I really like the red door shot in his. I also tried a vintage tone on his photo.
I didn’t get a chance to photograph my other daughter, but a Blipfoto friend from London, was in NYC at the same time. She did a great photo shoot with her. Here’s one of the photos.
I wasn’t really interested in doing portraits until this last year. I hope I can have more opportunity in the future.

Love the ones of Nicole! She is so gorgeous! And I like the vintage one of your grandson – not that the other one isn’t nice, I think I just like the more golden look personally :) You’d be a great portrait photographer to add to all your amazing landscapes. Hope it was a fun trip!
Thanks so much Joellen! I am so glad to hear what you think about E’s photo. The one you like is my fav as well. I was just curious to get some feedback on it. And thanks, I did have a great trip!
I love the ones of your daughter! You did a beautiful job. I am taking some maternity photos of a friend tonight, and it’s my first real attempt at portraits, too. I’m excited!
Thank you so much Sara! Good luck on your photo shoot!
Good photos!! Sure can tell she is your daughter!!!
