Exploring the Columbia River Gorge

Punch Bowl Falls

My husband and I recently spent some time in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge.  We went back a couple of times since spring.  There are so many great trails to hike, explore, geocache and photograph.  I don’t think we will ever get tired of exploring the trails and the numerous waterfalls in all their majestic beauty.

Summer is crawling with tourists. People come from all over the world to see Oregon’s largest waterfall, Multnomah Falls.  If you are a photographer and want to avoid having people in your shots, I would suggest going anytime but summer. The spring and fall are wonderful times to photograph there. Though I’ve never been to the Gorge in the winter, I have seen some amazing winter photographs taken by other photographers. It’s definitely on my list of places to photograph in the winter!

Just take a drive along the Historic Columbia River Highway and you’ll be hooked!  We love it there!

So beautiful. I love waterfalls! Not sure which is better…waterfalls or sunsets! Ok, both win!

These are gorgeous! I was just there and we hiked from Multnomah to Wakeenah, one of my favorite hikes. Thanks for sharing.
