Upgrading to iPhone 4

bridgeLast week my hubby and I took the plunge and upgraded our iPhones from 3G to 4.  The new phones arrived this week.  I was anxious to have a better camera phone, as well as video.

Though I don’t really take photos with my iPhone very often, it is nice to know that the quality is better than the previous generation iPhones.  I have seen some really cool iPhone apps and have been anxious to try them, just for the fun of it.

Last night I purchased the Hipstamatic iPhone App at the iTunes App Store.  It was $1.99.  I’ve been lucky to have a bunch of iTune credits, so I just did it!

My hubby and I took a drive after work this evening to Reedsport.  I was anxious to get my daily photo as well as try out the new iPhone.  The following shots were taken with different “lenses or film” as they are called in the Hipstamatic app software.

bicycle

I thought this three wheel bicycle was sitting there just for me.

lighthouse

I really like this shot of the Umpqua River Lighthouse.

I had fun trying out this app. It only comes with three lenses, but there are more that you can purchase to go along with your Hipstamatic fun camera!

Let me know what you think!

I like these photos. Does the app only work for the iPhone 4 or does it apply to the 3G as well?

Honestly, I would occasionally like to take a decent iPhone photo and upload it to Blip. This evening I actually sent my photo of the day to myself on email so that I could open my email on my iPad. But then I could not get a photo to upload. Frustrating. So back to the laptop I went. I just find sitting in bed with the iPad very comfortable and easy to use. Not quite the same with my laptop. (Is that hardcore addiction to blipping?)

Carol, I’m not sure if it works with previous iPhone versions. It looks like it from Googling it. The only problem I can see about uploading directly to Blipfoto is that many of these image apps have borders and that is not allowed. They would have to be trimmed.

Your iPad sounds wonderful. I so want one, but will wait for next generation. I really want video chatting with Skype or other carrier and USB ports. That would be my dream anyway!

Hipstamatic does work on the 3G – I have it on mine. Like I mentioned on blip, there are some other great iPhone photo apps that you should take a look at if you’re going to be using your phone to take lots of pictures like MoreLomo and Mill Colour. Now that I think of it, I would also recommend Camera Genius, Best Camera, Format126 and TitlShiftGen.

Thanks for the information diptych! Will have to check out the other apps. Just fun stuff. I don’t plan to use very often, but it was fun to see the quality as compared to my previous version iPhone. The lighthouse shot makes a cute pic on my iPhone locked screen though!

One of my favorite apps. I especially like the bridge image. I’m guessing you snapped it through the windshield which gives it a dreamy quality.

Sherri, I did take the bridge shot while in the passenger seat of my car. The apps for the iPhone are fun. I’ve been playing with some other new ones I purchased lately as well. Thanks for your comment!
